Brook (updated design)
Added 2020-11-20 05:15:05 +0000 UTCNot so much as ‘the new Brook’, more that Brook changed up his dreads by picking them out, cutting his hair shorter and re-doin his dreads. Just felt like going back to figuring him out a little bit more cuz his whole character is based on some very negative emotions of mine pertaining to trans stuff but this time is more about his selective mutism.
I don’t talk much about my social anxiety as much as I used to but I do have selective mutism (which is kinda hard to admit cuz I constantly think I’m lying). Brook here was given this before my official diagnosis and I never really channeled ,y own into him properly till now. Basically to explain what SM is, it’s where you can speak like normal but only to certain people. Brook here for example can only speak to his roomie and at work. He can’t speak at all to his mom nor Andy (tho that gradually changes). It’s social anxiety but so strong that it renders someone mute in certain situations, something I’ve had since 9th grade... but yeah yuy for Brook tho, he has learned sign language for those times he can’t speak. At his job, he’s a manager of a comic book store and his assistant manager knows ASL so she keeps up with him and doesn’t mind being present with social gatherings to interpret (she needs to be drawn TuT)
But yeh... idk what else to do with him, ironically. I guess I just needed to draw him in the moment tho lol.
