Random observation. Back then, the announce teams at the PPVs would correspond to the brand. This match had wrestlers from Raw, Smackdown, and ECW, hence SIX announcers at once. Jim Ross & Jerry Lawler (Raw), Michael Cole & JBL (Smackdown), and Joey Styles & Tazz (ECW).

Back at the first Women MITB Ladder Match, there a guy named James Ellsworth(who was managing a woman named Carmella, I don't know if you know her) claimed up the ladder and grabbed the briefcase and dropped it off the ladder into Carmella's arms. So to answer your question, yes, a 3rd party can just go up and grab the briefcase but it can't end until one of the people actually in the match gets their hands on it

2024-07-05 18:44:02 +0000 UTCHere is some info on some of the people at the time: CM Punk had only been on the main roster for little under a year. He debuted on WWE's version of ECW in 2006. Some people call it WWECW. He was one of the fan favorites at the time and still is today. They actually turned ECW into NXT in 2010. Basically, there was a WWE developmental show that aired locally in Florida called FCW (Florida Championship Wrestling) and they rebranded that as NXT. NXT had a game show type of feel until they made it look different with how it was presented and how it looked in 2012. It started the NXT that people watch today. King Booker won the king of the ring back in 2006 which is why he had that gimmick. He would actually have that gimmick until he left after Summerslam of August 2007. People actually liked the gimmick. Mr. Kennedy was rising up at the time and could have been a big star, but it didn't work out. There's a lot to that so if you want to research that, you can. His theme is one of my favorite themes too. Finlay was a wrestler in WCW in the 90s. He later had a backstage role, then started wrestling again, but this time for WWE in 2006. He was a mid-card guy. He was ok. He's actually still with WWE. He's just in another backstage role. The "golf club" that he came out with is called a shillelagh. It's pronounced shuh·lay·luh. He was a heel at the time and carried this to the ring with him. He would sometimes use it to cheat. He still brought it out with him when he turned face. This was right before Randy Orton started to change his character into wither the viper or apex predator. He used one of them first, then adopted the second one later, but don't remember which one he used. He was still the Legend Killer here. Mid 2007 is when he became a more darker character. Actually if you look at a picture of Randy Orton from 2007 and from 2008 and compare it, you'll see the differences. He also switched to his voices theme in 2008 too, so not long after this. Nothing much to say about Edge. He was about a year and a half into his run as a top guy. Prior to that he was a upper mid card/tag team wrestler. The Hardys were popular around this time too. They always been popular and over with the fans for majority of their careers. Jeff Hardy was released from WWE in 2003 and came back in 2006, and Matt Hardy was released in April of 2005 and came back later that year. Matt and Jeff were a team at the time and actually won the tag team titles the same year of this Wrestlemania in 2007.

Wwe thought it was a serious injury so edge challenged him for the case and won it from Kennedy then cash in on undertaker for the world championship. Later that year wwe started a storyline when Mr McMahon had a surprise son and he worked for wwe and it was gonna be Kennedy then he failed a drug test so the person was changed to Hornwoggle. And Randy Orton hated Kennedy and Cena also didn’t like Kennedy too I think

2024-07-05 17:30:36 +0000 UTCFinley is a well respected legend of the industry, one of the all time greats, future hall of famer,he has also helped train many greats, Trish Stratus, Melina, Becky Lynch, and is a big part in the modern women wrestling landscape behind the scenes if i am not mistaken Mr. Kennedy was super over at the time and was ear marked for success, he had to relinquish the briefcase sadly for injury and never really recovered from that, momentum wise (he was only injured for a few weeks) He did have a great run in TNA tho if not mistaken, and the MR> KENNEDY... KENNEDYYYYYYYYYY was a super over part of his entrance with the special mike and everything

2024-07-05 17:21:31 +0000 UTCI don’t personally know much about Mr. Kennedy, other than Randy hated him and did everything he could to get Kennedy fired. Finlay on the other hand is a technical genius and has played a huge part behind the scenes for WWE as a producer ever since he retired like 15 years ago. I know many of the women in the company have credited him with really pushing towards “divas” being treated more like a serious part of the show. I say all this to say, Finlay has been a respected mentor and peer in the industry for over 30 years.

2024-07-05 17:20:58 +0000 UTCSWEET! Edge didn’t actually get injured it was just the spot. Jeff didn’t get wheeled out but he never came back in. Others have said it, but Finlay wrestled in the UK for a couple of decades before joining WCW for several years. He was then an agent before making an in ring return in 2005 and wrestled until 2010. Finlay got a decent push in 06 but looking back he didnt look right in there with the likes of Batista, Bobby Lashley and Undertaker. Mr Kennedy is a massive What If in the history of WWE. Through unfortunate circumstances and his own decisions he never got the push he was supposed to. He announced he was going to cash in at Mania XXIV but suffered an injury that forced them to take the briefcase off him and put it on Edge because Undertaker was also hurt. However Kennedy’s injury was misdiagnosed and he was out for six weeks instead of six months. Ironically enough, Edge had to vacate the World Title that he won from Taker a month or two after he won it because he too got injured. Kennedy was supposed to be Vince McMahon’s illegitimate child in a storyline that happened later in 07 but he got popped for steroids (after being on Fox News or some other news channel and stating he had never done steroids before). He’d be gone, come back as a middcarder, get injured again and return only to nearly injury Randy Orton. This was the last straw as Orton and Cena apparently complained to Vince about how unsafe he was and Kennedy was fired. He would turn up in TNA and win their World Title but the magic from his WWE run was long gone by that point.
