2024-09-26 18:04:09 +0000 UTCEddie’s wife, Vickie Guerrero, would go on to be one of the great heel managers in modern wrestling history. She managed Edge and Dolph Ziggler through their title runs and managed LayCool when they were the top women in the company. She’s ruined her reputation recently but it’s notable that Eddie’s widow was somehow able to be as hated as she was. She was the original Dominik in terms of getting booed every time she spoke.

2024-06-30 19:30:51 +0000 UTCThat’s actually the 2nd. There was one between Bret and Shawn for the IC title which was a kind of a dark match but it was taped for vhs release. You can find it on the network. It was a test for what would be the Shawn and Razor match.

2024-06-29 01:18:30 +0000 UTCThought it'd be a good surprise if I didn't put it in the title. Hopefully now we get custody of dom 2

2024-06-29 00:59:31 +0000 UTCI thought it was dumb at the time but Eddie is such a fantastic performer he made it entertaining. The “I’m your papi” shirt was a big seller at the time. In the storyline Eddie is Dominic’s biological father. He let Rey adopt because him and his wife were having fertility issues. Eddie is asking for custody of Dominic to spite Rey, because Rey had beaten him a few times that year, including at Wrestlemania. In reality Rey has always been his biological father.

2024-06-28 23:32:11 +0000 UTCI was an adult when they did this storyline, so my thoughts were along the lines of "Do we really need this soap opera shit? But we're getting Rey vs Eddie out of it, so whatever."

2024-06-28 21:13:45 +0000 UTCThe storyline was that Rey and his wife were having fertility issues. at that same time Eddie and his wife were having marital issues and Eddie was seeing another girl and got her pregnant out of wedlock. Then Eddie and his wife resolved issues and got back together, but he was still having a kid with another woman. To solve both their problems, Eddie gave his son Dominic to Rey and his wife to raise since they couldn't have a child of their own and they all agreed to never reveal this secret between them.

2024-06-28 19:50:41 +0000 UTCI was twelve years old at the time when I watched this so I truly believed that Dom was Eddie's son but as I got older I realized this was a storyline but seeing what Dom looks like now makes me wonder if it wasn't really true. He really does look like a younger Eddie with his mullet. Lol.

2024-06-28 19:07:40 +0000 UTCImagine the heat Eddie would've gotten had he won the match and took Dom home with him against his will.

2024-06-28 18:25:00 +0000 UTCGod this match is so funny. Especially now that Dom is now one of the best heels in wrestling. The ending was a little weird because Vickie was supposed to run in while Eddie had Rey pinned to the ring with the ladder but she missed her cue. Because Eddie was a perfectionist, he screams, at the top of his lungs, “Motherf*cker! Where the f*ck was Vickie! God damn it!” That was obviously edited over in the Peacock version.

2024-06-28 18:18:35 +0000 UTCWhen Rey was under the ladder it looked werid because Vicki was supposed to come out then but missed the cue so they had to come up with something that's why eddie was hitting the ground in frustration. In the original audio you can hear him yelling where was Vicki https://youtu.be/MCmpQsX2qGg?si=AIOt0VM0amqDaPpG Here is the original if you want to see it

2024-06-28 18:11:14 +0000 UTCWhen the ladder was trapping Rey and Eddie was climbing it, Vicky (Eddie’s wife) was supposed to interfere at that point but she missed her cue and Rey had to improvise while Eddie fake struggled with the latch. That’s why he was so pissed and pounded the mat after he fell. He actually shouted “where the f*ck is Vicky?”

2024-06-28 18:02:52 +0000 UTCas you will hear there are a lot of great 1v1 ladder matches in the past, i want to say one of my fav ones is a triple threat one, Jeff Hardy vs. Sami Zayn vs. AJ Styles Ladder Match from WWE Clash of Champions 2020 for the IC title. It is such a fun and wild match full of great talent

2024-06-28 17:40:38 +0000 UTCI don't remember thinking if it was real or not. I'm a year older than Dominick so I was nine at this time when I watched this live on PPV. It's weird that I don't remember because my memories were pretty vivid watching WWE in 2005.

2024-06-28 17:28:20 +0000 UTCIt feels so eerie watching Eddie's matches from this time period knowing what would happen a few months after this

2024-06-28 17:25:42 +0000 UTCThere have been MANY one on one ladder matches in WWE. The first ladder match in WWE history was actually Shawn Michaels vs. Razor Ramon for the IC title.
