2024-06-15 11:32:17 +0000 UTCAlso, since I haven't noticed anyone mention it yet, the importance of the ladder in the match is a reference to Razor Ramon vs Shawn Michaels at Wrestlemania X, which WWE refers to as the first ladder match despite it not being the first. There is at least one other WWF ladder match that was at a house show as well as other territories like Stampede Wrestling in Canada.

2024-06-14 22:06:59 +0000 UTCNon sanctioned basically for storyline means WWE isn't sanctioning it. They are accepting no fault if either person is seriously injured or maimed. Shawn had been retired for 4 years due to injuring his back. The non sanctioned sells that Shawn is not cleared to compete (in storyline) and since its not sanctioned there are no rules. The thought is any move to the back could paralyze him which is a great story to work with in the match.
