Was lucky to be at this show. It was at Barclays Center in Brooklyn the day before Summerslam. Takeover was probably better than the WWE shows 9/10 times. And yes, the girl Izzy is a wrestler now. Crazy.

2024-07-21 03:05:48 +0000 UTCI thought this version of Bayley would have been at the top of the women's division as I saw her as someone who was relatable to young girls everywhere and could have been a merch seller but she was screwed over when she got called up to the main roster. Vince didn't seem to care. She was treated as wussy little girl who did not want to hurt anyone and wouldn't want to use weapons in a no dq match... It was also said he was going to bury Gunther originally, then send him back to NXT and eventually out of the company. Luckily, HHH was given main roster control at that point..

2024-06-03 23:17:12 +0000 UTCI don't know if anyone has already said it but the curtain call at the end was actually because it was meant to be Sasha's last match in NXT, and it was Charlotte and Becky's last NXT show. Sasha actually ended up staying for one more match with Bayley at the next NXT show, where they were the actual main event.

2024-06-03 20:07:07 +0000 UTCOne of my favourite matches ever. Was probably crying the first time I watched it, and I wasn't even following NXT at the time. In fact, this was the first ever NXT show I saw, because I got back into wrestling (like since childhood) on the weekend this event happened, along with the SummerSlam the next night (where Stephen Amell had a match, lol). Definitely was an instant fan of both Bayley and Sasha. Admittedly though, I do occasionally blur this match with another the two had at a different event, which was clearly also great if I'm mixing them up sometimes. Also hearing you ask about the Rose Plant was a cool example of how fast things can change and become the norm, because I stopped watching wrestling between Mania 36 (Covid) and Mania 40. When I came back, I had to learn about the Rose Plant via context clues because I realized she wasn't doing the Bayley to Belly anymore. I prefer how the BtB looks anyway tbh, the Rose Plant has always looked a bit dodgy to me.

2024-06-03 19:44:52 +0000 UTCI was a teenager at this point and hadn’t seen any professional wrestling outside of the WWE and honestly didn’t know it existed. I had NO CLUE what women could do in that ring up until the 4 horsewomen came along. They completely changed everything and opened the eyes of everyone involved in mainstream wrestling. These 4 changed the entire landscape because they weren’t gonna settle for being the intermission act. I was mind blown by this match when it happened and it completely destroyed any remaining narratives that women couldn’t wrestle.

Their rivalry continued for a bit, they had an ironman match after this which was also awesome. If I remember right, that was the first women's match to actually nation event a WWE PPV. A lot of these matches in this era get emotional due to the context of how shitty the ladies were treated at this time.

2024-06-03 17:58:05 +0000 UTCAnd yh I see what u mean with sasha having more personalty in the bayley match to willow one sasha is lot better heel then face shes alright as a face but as a heel she comes off more natural and is good at being cocky and getting heat I liked her match vs willow I thought was very good but it was her 1st match in a whole year in Japan she injured foot broken it fell from top rope and it was a carrer ending ankle injury and she mentally got through it so to u if sasha vs willow she was a bit sloppy in the match that why she have some ring rust but she get back to her best with more reps and id say bayley is better as a face more natural shes alright as a heel but seems bit geeky to me and it seems to me like she acting to be bad when she ain't it like I dont feel willow be a good heel shes to nice and a great face willow and bayley are very simlier I like to see them have a match

You can see back then she definitely had more muscle. It’s also been nearly a decade tbf.

Cause that was the first time i ever looked at NXT but when that match ended it shook me it just blew me away. Because at that time the woman was treated poorly still in wwe
