Summer Girls 8; part 2

Just finished up the new Summer Girls painting! I'm a couple days late (summer officially ended 9/22) but I didn't want to miss painting something for this year's summer. This summer's been crazy with trying to get Cerebrawl ready to show to some potential publishers and investors at PAX, so I kept putting off working on this. Thankfully PAX has come and gone and I had some time between freelance contracts to work on this year's Summer Girls.

During the summer I visited my family in Baltimore. We were just a train ride away from DC, and I had a chance to visit the National Gallery of Art. While there I was able to see this painting;

George Bellow's 42 Kids.

It captured a lot of the mood I wanted to create in this year's Summer Girls so I used it as inspiration for this year's painting. Goes to show you never know where inspiration will hit you

I figured out some new techniques working on this painting I can't wait to share with you guys in the near future!
