help me with my character design!

I am currently making a character called the "Scrump Runt" with artist Iain Soder. They live in the forest and are kind of a mixture between a chikorita, corgi dog and curvy human. They are anthropomorphic and very mischievous. They are considered pests in their universe and are seen as "obscene" by the general public because they have humanoid curves like big butts. I have made so many sketches of these creatures but I really cannot capture their spirit. I am having difficulty juggling their pet like appearance and their humanoid body elements. Above I attached a "mood board" of my different inspirations. If you have any design suggestions please let me know!
