The guns they had are muskets so they only really have one shot and horrible accuracy. Reloading depending on skill I think can take minutes, so it's not reasonable to reload during close combat. The fighting is very typical for 90s action movie (not very worried about realism XD). The reaction was fun ^_^ can't wait for the next one
