July Catch-up

Hi again, all. I've been wanting to do more blog-style shit here ever since dumping out like I did way back in what, February? March? I don't remember. It was poop. Things are still kind of poop but maybe not as poop as they could be, all considered.

I just wanted to say sorry for going such long stretches without posting and then just ass-blasting everyone with stuff at the last moment. For at least the last couple of months I've been busting my ass to try and get caught up on commissions again. Unfortunately, having to pause everything to do rushes every week kind of competes with that momentum, but rushes are the only way I'm paying the bills right now so I have to keep those going. My aim is to wean myself off of them, but I have to finish existing commissions first, so you can kinda see what a dumb, weird catch-22 it is that I've gotten myself into.

I've also had to balance the shambling fucking disaster that is the dutch baby-style implosion of Twitter and the implications that has for my ability to support myself. So when I haven't been working on actual work, I've been having to keep busy depositing my birdapp eggs into literally any basket I can find. I've been pretty okay about that all along but, creatures of habit that we all are, it's like pulling teeth to get people to follow you on other platforms when they're still perfectly comfortable where they're at. It hasn't helped that we've had literally fifty billion other fucking options crop up over the last handful of years, so nobody really knows where they're going to land because we all want to land on the "right" one. Which isn't a thing. There is no right platform, there's just whatever platform presents us with the least bullshit which is really hard to determine when most of them are still so new.

Because of all the socmed crap, I've been doing my damnedest to get fusspot.rip and nozdraws.art up and functional. Right now they both point to landing pages, but I'm hoping to get barebones websites up by the end of the month so that people can just go to either place and find where else to find me. I'm also going to have new price lists up, though I'll still be closed for regular commissions unless someone legitimately wants to pay like $6K to rent my art services for a month hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha...*

So yeah, that's what's been going on. I still also have to save for a car by the end of the year, and I was going to do a GFM for that. I probably still will do a GFM but I don't expect much to come of it given the general fucking upheaval caused by one rancid asspucker who got real bored with counting his self-perpetuating dimes.

Thank you all, seriously, for sticking with me here. There's so much I want to do still, and I keep feeling like I'm inching forward only to get dragged back a foot by some thing or another outside my control. But I'm trying.
