"Malaguena" Right-Hand Exercises (tremolo among others)

Hey!

Here's a collection of right-hand exercises/patterns using the melody for "malaguena". Both video and tab/notation in PDF-format. These exercises are great for developing tremolo and the right-hand in general. Remember to practice slowly and evenly, no need to do all of them everyday but if you practice these patterns consistently you will quickly develop your right-hand technique.

Let me know if something isn't clear.

Best & Thanks for your support!

Yes, I would say so. Preferably on a nylon strings with nails. However, anything is of course possible but I would find it harder on a steel-string guitar!

Hi, I was wondering if the style of guitar that is played had an impact on the tremolo technique. More precisely, is it easier to play tremolos on a classical guitar than on a steel-strung acoustic guitar?

Thank you for the reply Lucas! I had a feeling it'd be something like that. I'll give it a shot. Thanks for being such an awesome guitarist! You're my favorite one to watch

Hi Austin! I would actually recommend practicing at least 3-4 patterns daily if you want to achieve a really even tremolo technique. The benifit of those different combinations is that it builds strength to each individual finger over time leading to a more even tremolo. Try it out for a while and see how it goes! Some of the combinations are very difficult so you might wanna focus on those for a while exclusively. Of course, we are all different so you gotta find what works for you. I find them very effective when I want to train up my tremolo technique though.

Can you please briefly comment on the benefit of practicing all the different fingering patterns. I just read through all of them, great work out and kind of hard to type lol. I found a natural affinity for 'pami' although my 'pima' has more dexterity without practice. My beginner tremolo mind thinks instantly to just practice one of those two patterns, maybe both, until I'm a master of that pattern, but it seems there may be benefit to practicing all 6 patterns?
