On The Rooftop Lead sheet (Original Song)

Whatsup!

So I've written a simple song in an old jazz standard fashion and I wanted to share the lead sheet to you guys (attached in this post)  I wanted to have an original song that I can work with without worrying about copyright. I'll use this to do different walking bass and harmony lessons later on. Stay tuned!

Great song Lucas. Has a sort of Hoagy Carmichael feel to it.

I can’t wait for the harmonic analysis and solo ideas content and all that. I think passing chords are underrated. I loved it.

I really like this song! Great done Lucas!

There seems to be a chord missing in the lead sheet. Is it a G7 after the G13 toward the end of the B section? ("Sweet - spot" line)

YES! I’m wondering if you could eventually walk us through reharmonizing this into different genres, showing us the musical tropes in terms of intervals and rhythms and such.

Wow great job!

Looking forward to getting into more detail on this Lucas - I was going to ask if we could cover more jazz standards, but wasn't fully aware of the copyright issues. Looks like a good way to go forward!

Very cool swing/big band style. Would it be too much to ask for your finger style picking patterns?

Sounds great! It has a very whimsical feeling. I could hear it being in a Pixar movie.
