Some tips on how to practice a scale

Hey!

Get a lot of questions how to practice a scale - here is how I do it. I will do more tutorials on scales - especially the major scales and their modes. If you get the concepts in this video, it will be easier to follow a long with the next ones.

Im new here Lucas. This was terrific. Loved the Bach interval ideas. Just great. Thanks a ton. Glad to be here

excellent 👍

there's a lot can be done using only C major. This is quite informative!

Very useful. Thank you! :)

Great! I was thinking... What´s your opinion about formal education vs. "random & wild" education on guitar?

Thanks Lucas. Your material is great. Very useful ideas you put together Can we please have a lesson using arpeggios to build up solos. Thanks

haha, glad you enjoy it! Nothing wrong with shredding scales - but important to see the many different ways to work with them! Thansk for the support man!!

Awesome lesson. Here comes the metal-head, scratching his scalp "that's not scales man, this is like... ahm... playing some Bach or smth... scales you have to shred passages at the speed of light without thinking, like Yngwie"

Hey Thomas! Love hearing that I'm able to inspire you!! Thanks for supporting!

Really happy to hear that Alex! That's exactly what I would like to communicate:)

really nice and cool video to practice not like a dumb a scale, musical with position and harmonisation, thanks Lucas ! You're truly grat and inspiring !

This is an important lesson for me, Lucas, thanks. Not only will my wife thank you for breaking the drudgery of scales :) but it also gives me something so important in music which is ‘agency.’ It’s something I’m searching for and that I get from your lessons.

Talking was not the problem. :) I tried to copy exactly what you are doing on guitar and I start thinking "what is the correct fingering, should I stretch this much?" Since you are not sitting with the students maybe an overview of good posture will be good. :D

Glad you enjoyed!

Haha I Will talk slower next time:) yes, something on right-hand technique. Will put it on my to-do list

This was fantastic. Thank you very much

At 0.75 speed I can follow along. - I would like some videos on right hand technique, I have gotten into the bad habit of using my index finger as a pick.
