Such an important reminder and message, beautifully articulated.

Very good sharing. What hits me was "looking for external approval kill the joy of learning". It's so true. From young we are conditioned to seek external approvals for everything. Be a good boy, you get reward or treats, be a good employee, u get promotion. Be a good wife, good husband etc. But when it comes to learning music, be yourself is the 1st thing u must firmly remember.

Thanks, Lucas, I feel the same. Coming home to awareness is so life-giving. I need to remember that even in the times I feel good - just a bit of attention every day. I do the Kneipp showers. I was very inspire by the interview on "The One You Feed" site with Jonny Miller, on how he uses breathwork/interoception, and sea-swimming, to work with grief and unresolved emotional "debt". May you be happy, may you be well!

Powerful testimonial, Lucas! Who are your role models in music? Maybe you can do a short video on who inspires you? Thanks.

I'm glad you could relate and find some benefit from the video Robert! It's really important, especially I think as a musician to step back and get some perspective. So one can appreciate what a gift it is to be able to express music! :D

Hello Lucas. I was inspired this video the reason being I've had similar experiences many times in my life. As important as being a musician is for me it is also important to remind myself of other important things like as you mentioned the health of your mind and body and that sometimes the answer to this dilemma is not pushing harder but to step away and relax a bit. Thanks and best regards.

haha, my pleasure! Cold showers are painful, but they do work:)

welcome back!

Cheers from French alps Lucas !!

Thanks for sharing your insights, Lucas. This particularly resonates with me as I have suffered from burnout at work in the past, and going for a bit of a slump. I absolutely second what you said regarding recognising the signs and taking a step back is the best thing to do when this happens. Glad you're feeling re-energised!
